Harvey Wheeler Homecoming

Roundtable discussion with people who grew up in the 1930s & 40s in West Concord, MA

October 20, 2010

ABOUT THE PROJECT...

In an effort to preserve a record of local history in West Concord, MA, I joined forces with fellow residents of Concord, Nancy Carey and Carol Dwyer, to plan a Roundtable discussion for people who grew up in West Concord in the 1930s and 1940s.  Our key to success was found in Dick Loynd, a life-long resident of West Concord,  who joined our group and started spreading the word about our plan.  Over 50 people came together in the Harvey Wheeler Clock Tower Room on October 20, 2010 to share their memories and photographs of growing up in West Concord in the  years before, during and after World War II.

A DVD of the 52-minute edited video “Harvey Wheeler Homecoming”  is available on loan at the Concord Free Public library and the West Concord Fowler library.

You can view highlights from the edited video below.  You can also listen to audio files of the full meeting below the video.
