Documentary films - Providence RI
My first short documentary film made in 2007 features John Thompson, who was diagnosed with progressive MS (multiple sclerosis) over 20 years ago. John feels that swimming has been a critical factor in slowing the progression of his MS condition and in maintaining his physical and mental well being.

I met Anna Liebenow at a screening of John's Prescription at an Independent Living conference in Providence, RI. in 2008. Anna was diagnosed with progressive MS at age 30, and her independent living relies heavily on access to public transportation. She wanted to made a documentary film about RIPTA, Rhode Island's public transit authority, so we spent a day in Kennedy Plaza, center city Providence, interviewing RIPTA riders for our short film.

In January 2012, Johnny and I taught an introductory filmmaking classa at the newly founded MS Dream Center of Rhode Island. In collaboration with an enthusiastic group of participants living with MS, we created a short film called MS Dreams Rhode Island that was submitted to the 2012 Neuro Film Festival in New Orleans.
